Designations, Types and Classifications

Designations

A UAV designation is a combination of three words derived from the UAV identifier. The identifier is stable for the same UAV, so the designation will also always be the same.

The designation helps you to quickly identify a UAV when coordinating a response with team members. It is easier to refer to Delta Lima Lima than to 43d39d.

Types

Types are used to enrich a UAV with further information like make, model, name and default classification. A type is always bound to a UAV serial number.

Types can be viewed by any user and managed by super administrators, organization administrators or tenant users with the Manage UAV Monitoring permission.

Types provided by Nzyme Connect

Nzyme setups connected to Connect receive a list of known UAV types, manufacturers, models and categories like Agriculture, Delivery or Public Safety.

Creating your own Types

You can create as many types as you wish. For example, if you have a fleet of your own drones that you do not want to alert on, you can create those drones as types and set their default classification to friendly. You can also add a name and other details to further enrich your own fleet.

Own/custom types have priority over types provided by Nzyme Connect.

Classifications

UAV can have the following classifications applied:

  • Unknown (Default)
  • Neutral
  • Friendly
  • Hostile

Classifications can be viewed by any user and managed by super administrators, organization administrators or tenant users with the Manage UAV Monitoring permission.

Alerts and Classifications

You can define what types of classifications should trigger alerts. For example, you can configure Nzyme to always alert when a UAV is detected, except if it is a known friendly drone.

Alerts can be managed by super administrators, organization administrators or tenant users with the Manage UAV Monitoring permission.
